David serves as Team 1's wildcard.

While he lacks the overwhelming power of some contestants, his speed, adaptability, and willingness to take risks often allow him to accomplish things nobody expects.

David frequently throws himself into dangerous situations if it means protecting his teammates.

How He Arrived

Before arriving, David was in Night City, already deep into the life of an edgerunner. He was pushing himself harder than he should, trying to prove he could handle more chrome, more danger, and more pressure.

Then, during a mission, everything around him started to glitch. The city lights stretched, the sound of traffic disappeared, and for a second David thought his cyberware was failing.

When he woke up on the island, the first thing he noticed was that he was alone.

Then he saw Adam Smasher.

Personality

David is brave, stubborn, emotional, and reckless when pushed too far. He wants to protect the people he cares about, but he also has a habit of taking on too much by himself.

David quickly gets along with contestants who care about other people. Yuji and Ash remind him of the kind of friends he wishes he could have protected.

Kazuma frustrates David at times, but he still considers him a valuable teammate.

Adam Smasher remains David's greatest enemy. No matter where they are, David refuses to forget everything Adam has taken from him.

Even if Adam barely acknowledges him, David continues searching for an opportunity to prove he can stand against him.

Current Story

David entered Anime Showdown Ultimax believing the island might give him a chance to finally move forward.

Instead, he discovered Adam Smasher was competing as well.

Since then, David has struggled to focus on the competition itself. Every time he sees Adam, old memories return.

As a member of Team 1, David tries to support his teammates and keep moving forward. However, his desire for revenge continues to grow stronger.

The question is whether David can overcome his past, or if his hatred for Adam Smasher will eventually consume him.
